Recruit, Retain, Ready: Strategies for Maintaining a Strong Infectious Disease Workforce (Live Summit-No CE)
The 2nd annual Public Health Prepared summit will focus on national, state, and local perspectives to recruit and retain a strong infectious disease (ID) workforce. The 2.5 hour virtual summit will consist of presentations, cross-sectoral facilitated breakout discussions, and large group Q&As.
Why Do We Give Health Numbers to the Public? And How Should We Do So If We Must? (Live Webinar-No CE)
This brief webinar will discuss communicating different types of numbers related to health. It will explore the best practices for communicating health numbers. Including a discussion on how and why to make health-related numbers feel relevant to the target audience, the session will emphasize the importance of context and reference points.
Infection Control: Candida auris
This third session of the Preparedness Roundtable will focus on infection control related to Candida auris. The webinar was originally presented on April 4, 2023, from 10-11:30 AM EST.

Relation to Michigan Center for Infectious Disease Threats & Pandemic Preparedness (MCIDT)
MCIDT is a bioscience initiative directed by Aubree Gordon. It focuses on establishing the University of Michigan as a leader in infectious disease threats and positioning the university to respond to the current COVID-19 pandemic and other future pandemics.

Our Mission
Public Health Prepared (PHP or PH Prepared) is the workforce development and public health practice branch of the broader Michigan Center for Infectious Disease Threats & Pandemic Preparedness (MCIDT) initiative. As such, we contribute to MCIDT’s mission of serving as a convening and coordinating force for the field by engaging cross-sectoral partners to translate research into practice for infectious disease control and prevention.
Our work focuses on building the strategic skills and capacity of the public health workforce, broadly defined, to address emerging infectious disease threats in Michigan and beyond.
